Ottmar is interested in the diversity of tropical and indigenous insects, nature conservation but also in marine biology. He has years of experience in entomological methods for sampling and monitoring different taxa in rainforest and temperate habitats, but also in functional morphology and histology of insect structures (SEM, digital micro-photography). Apart from supervising the projects of the group, he is teaching in Bachelor and Master modules.
